Random Events
What a week... Yesterday I had an allergic reaction to something. Today I went to Wal-Mart and was walking down the pet food aisle minding my own business when suddenly I had a box fall on my head and hit me right at the base of the skull. I saw stars and suddenly had sharp pain both there and in the top part of my neck. Shopping should not lead to a concussion! Initially I thought that it had just fallen off the top shelf. Then the guy who was working on the overnight stocking crew admitted that he threw it over.... I think the company frowns on an employee injuring a customer. The excuse that he gave was that he still isn't used to people being there at night shopping. I was then reminded that they've been open 24 hours since the Spring so it's not like this is really that new... I didn't file a formal complaint (so far). I really just wanted to get out of there immediately. There was certainly an element of shock there. Both with the fact it was just so unexpected... not the kind of thing you expect to happen while shopping.... and the body's immediate reaction to trauma. I am fine now at least. It really wasn't serious but certainly was random.

Random Factoid
The other day I heard a random fact... Supposedly your optimal wake up time is 6 hours after when you were born. So... I was born at 6:40 a.m. and that would mean that the best time for me to wake up and be productive is 12:40 p.m. And go figure if left to my own devices that is about when I would wake up... well aside from the whole midnight shift aspect any ways. Right now I'm not even going to bed until after that point. But I thought that was kind of interesting.

Fluff
I am taking a stand. For a long time I have been censoring my posts because people seemed to think that my blog was too dark and wanted me to lighten up. I am not, and probably never will be, a merry ray of sunshine. But I am sick of tailoring my posts and creating more "fluffy" posts to appease other people. It's not me.... And let's face it after being fired from my job for no reason and spending 8 months fighting them just how happy do you expect me to be? This is me being me. And if you don't like it then stop reading. But I am going to post about whatever comes to mind... and sometimes it might be entertaining... and other times a little dark. It's called life and it's all mine.

Random Occurrences
The other night I was getting ready for work when there was a knock at the door. People will frequently get the wrong apartment... Probably doesn't help that my apartment has no numbers on the door. I open the door and Tristan was standing there... Now I haven't seen him in almost 2 years. It was quite the shock. He was standing there with an apartment size freezer. Now it turns out that he works for the Brick now and was delivering it but they had the wrong address. Gave me a chance to reconnect with him and he apologized for things that happened in the past. And I thought I had a guilt complex. Got his phone number and we might go out to dinner soon.

Random Thoughts
Anyone else think it's weird that my posts went from the Daytona 500 (Nascar, a sport long associated with rednecks) to Nietzsche's thoughts on God? I just thought it was a little odd. Stream of consciousness doesn't even begin to explain that one.

Act 27, Line 4
Okay so it's really not a play but the challenge was to take the post that represents your age and since this is the fourth month find the 4th sentence. I'm thinking I had a lot more free time back then... I seemed to be posting at least once a day if not more often... now I am lucky if I post more then once in a week. Ahh the joys of going back to work... Then I was packing... and sick... and now am in limbo. Can't anything go smoothly? But now back to my 27th post... which was from ny Happy New Years post. I was wrong in my comments at L.Bo's page... Looks like I can't count. The actual 4th sentence was "2005 has definitely been an interesting year." But here is the entire paragraph.
"Wishing everyone a happy new year! As another year draws to a close I am reminded of the song "Closing Time" by Semisonic. "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." 2005 has definitely been an interesting year. For whatever 2005 brought with it: the good, the bad and the ugly, the year will be over in a little over 12 hours. So now it's time to reminisce about the previous year."

Random Facts
Before someone decides to tag me for random facts... I thought I'd post a few.
1. I live in the same building I work in. Talk about convenience.. or laziness.
2. I have self induced ADD from a head injury when I was 14. Suzanne, I still feel bad about destroying your shirt when I fell off my bike. As a side note, the skull is the only bone I have ever fractured.
3. My favourite shows when growing up were Profiler and Pretender. My favourite shows that are still on the air include CSI, Lost, and Survivor.
4. I'm a big fan of Escher and his impossible figures. Just check out the artwork at my apartment.
5. I've been homeless twice. Fortunately, in both cases I had a couch to sleep on.
6. My favourite PS2 games are Tiger Woods 2005 and Def Jam: Fight for New York. Weird mix I know.
7. The farthest out of the country I have been is Mexico. Really need to do some travelling.
8. Back in my letter writing days I used to make the envelopes out of magazine ads or pictures.
9. Currently, I have 5 tattoos and the most I have paid for one so far is 3 cigarettes. Pretty good deal I must say.
10. Adam got me interested in Japanese anime after I said I would never like it. Now I have Neon Genesis Evangelion in my collection.
11. On a related note... I once called into work robbed after 60 DVDs were stolen. With the help of the pawn shop I was able to recover about 35 of them.
12. Not one of my DVDs is a burned copy, although I did have to buy a DVD player that would play PAL DVDs. Right now I have 237 movies, 13 from music artists, Band of Brothers, Neon Gensis, 5 seasons of CSI, 3 seasons of CSI Miami, 4 seasons of Six Feet Under, Season 1 of Lost, Seasons 1 &2 of Pretender, Earth 2 and 4 seasons of Queer as Folk. My DVD collection is where most of my money goes.
13. My student loan is $54,000 and I'm not even working in the psychology field. But do I regret it? Not one bit.
14. Bought an XBox 360 more to stream my DVD projects to the TV then to play games on. Ordered in September and am still waiting for it to come in.
15. I enjoy board games and trivia. I am such a fan of CSI I have the game to go with it. But the prize of that collection is Scene It. I now have the movie edition, the TV edition and the James Bond edition.
And there you have it... a few random facts about me. Some things you might have known and others probably not.
