Tech Support Round 2

So after almost a week my call to technical support was still bothering me. I did not want to relive the whole experience of being fired. I wanted to just be a customer. Was that too much to ask? Apparently it was. It was actually physically affecting me. So I decided to call back. Time for round two. But this time I want customer relations.

As soon as I realized that I was first going to have to speak to someone from technical support I pretty much had a panic attack. Got through to customer relations and finally got an apology. It's amazing what a difference that would have made in the first place. After all I was burned by the computer and am potentially scarred for life. That picture was taken today, about a month after the incident. It's faint but you can still see the marks in the skin.

However since it was botched the first time I had never been asked the safety questions. So I was back to the land of product specialists. Once again it was time for a mini panic attack since I knew it was possible that I would get someone at my former employment. Fortunately I didn't. So he asked the safety questions and still told me to take it into a service provider. Now I am just frustrated and don't feel like I am being listened to. The computer is overheating and burned me. On top of that the optical drive needs to be replaced and so does the logic board. So basically they want me to take it in and be without the computer for a week while they replace all the internal components. I know they don't want to replace the computer because it costs them money... but this has been an extremely poor experience. He puts me on hold to read over the other case notes. I was in tears while on hold. After 5 minutes or so I stopped crying, just in time for him to come back on the line. And I gave up fighting at that point. I was on the edge of losing it again so I just accepted that the final answer (from him any ways) was that I would have to take it in for repair. And he said he would send feedback on the first agent... which really doesn't mean a whole lot. I should know.

So once again I just feel defeated. I am frustrated by the whole experience and want someone to actually make me feel good about the company again. The worst part is that it's not even about the computer at this point. It's about the way the call was handled. I never want to call technical support again. So again I have to think twice about buying another Apple computer.

Best Present in the World

It has been a rough, frustrating week. But sometimes it is the small things that can make all the difference in the world.

I already mentioned the card that Christie gave me. What I didn't mention is that there was more then just a card there. Christie came over with a present for me. She knew it had been a rough week and wanted to do something nice for me. She wanted me to feel appreciated.

It was touching for many reasons. One because Christie actually took the time to do something like this. I am not used to someone actually going out of their way to do something nice for me. The thought actually brings tears to my eyes. I'm not sure I want to admit that to Christie though. *lol* She might think I'm a wuss. Or realize that I'm not as strong as I let on.

The other reason that it meant a lot to me is that Christie is sick and isn't getting much sleep. In spite of that she went out of her way to do something for me... to cheer me up and show her appreciation. Awww....

The magnet really does hold a lot of truth.... The best part of the day is coming home to Azrael. There is something about having him greet me when I get home and then have him curl up either beside me or on my lap. It's calming and brightens my day. I'm telling you... he is cheap therapy. It's also about the unconditional love he brings. Cats don't pass judgment... Hell within 5 minutes they have forgotten the fact you stepped on their tail... or whatever... and are back to loving you.

And then there is the cat. I think that's the closest to a female cat that Azrael is going to get to see *lol* According to the tag it's not recommended for children under the age of 3. So maybe I shouldn't have it *lol* It's cute and makes me feel like a kid again. I am just a big kid at times though. I won't go into the psychology of that one... It's a whole other discussion.

They are the best presents in the world. Maybe it's because it's unexpected. I was definitely not expecting anything. It was a normal day at work. And it's not like your birthday or Christmas when people feel more obligated to buy something. It was a present out of the blue. The best kind. Christie really is too good to me. I don't even think there are words to express how I feel. "Thank you" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Tired & Worn Out

Aside from fighting a headache I am tired and worn out. I am sick of trying to fight a losing battle with the fibromyalgia. It's become a life ruled by pain... and fatigue... Never really feeling rested. I get some relief by going to the chiropractor but it's temporary. Been about 4 years since I was last treated for it. At that point I had gone off all medication since it only decreased the pain, didn't remove it and I was left feeling too groggy to function. Now I can add mental confusion to the list of symptoms. I feel like a prisoner in my own mind. I can still process information, I just have trouble communicating it. Not a good thing when you work in a call center. I'm aslo scared to face this loss... the pain I can live with. Mind over matter, right? But to face the mental challenge is a whole other issue. I don't even have enough energy right now to make myself something to eat. Life, right now, is characterized by pain and isolation. People don't understand what it's like to battle this every day.

And as I right this I am now off work until cleared by a doctor to return. It's a long story... but I guess the good news is that the Fibromyalgia might get treated again. Not that I am really looking forward to more medication but it beats the alternative. Now I think it's about time I shed a few more tears over the whole situation. I don't think I've done enough of that yet.
